A new era of Jaguar has arrived.

The all-new Jaguar Type 01 is more than a new model. It represents a major transformation for the Jaguar brand, bringing together dramatic design, all-electric performance, advanced technology and modern luxury in a four-door Grand Tourer unlike anything Jaguar has built before.

With up to 1,030 PS of power, an anticipated EPA-estimated range of up to 400 miles, ultra-fast charging capability and a completely new electric architecture, Type 01 is set to become the most powerful, aerodynamic and technologically advanced Jaguar ever created.

And its design makes that clear before it ever moves.

The Jaguar Type 01 is an all-electric, four-door luxury Grand Tourer and the first production vehicle of Jaguar’s new generation.

Even its name has meaning.

“Type” connects the vehicle to legendary Jaguars of the past. The “0” represents zero tailpipe emissions, while the “1” identifies Type 01 as the first vehicle of this new era for Jaguar.

Rather than adapting an existing vehicle platform for electric power, Jaguar developed an entirely new architecture specifically for Type 01. Known as Jaguar Electric Architecture, or JEA, the platform gave Jaguar’s designers and engineers greater freedom to create the vehicle’s unusual proportions, low profile and distinctive driving characteristics.

The result is a Jaguar that looks toward the future without forgetting the dramatic proportions and performance that have defined some of the brand’s most memorable vehicles.

Type 01 isn’t simply about making a visual statement.

Jaguar has equipped the new GT with a tri-motor all-wheel-drive system capable of producing up to 1,030 PS and 1,365 Nm of torque.

Jaguar estimates Type 01 can accelerate from 0–62 mph in as little as 3.2 seconds.

But outright acceleration is only part of the story.

Intelligent Torque Vectoring helps distribute power where it is needed, while a sophisticated suspension system includes four-corner air suspension, active dampers and all-wheel steering.

Jaguar also engineered Type 01 around a 50:50 weight distribution and a low center of gravity, helping create the balance and confidence expected from a Jaguar Grand Tourer.

Technology and experience developed through the championship-winning Jaguar TCS Racing Formula E program also contributed to the development of the Type 01’s driving character.

One of the biggest questions surrounding any new electric vehicle is range, and Type 01 was designed with long-distance Grand Touring in mind.

Jaguar anticipates an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 400 miles from its 118-kWh usable battery.

That means Type 01 isn’t simply designed for short trips around town. Its combination of range, comfort and performance is intended to make longer journeys part of the experience.

Jaguar has also developed an advanced thermal management system to help optimize battery efficiency and charging performance across changing weather conditions—an especially useful consideration for drivers dealing with hot summers and cold Midwestern winters.

Long range becomes even more useful when it’s paired with fast charging.

The Jaguar Type 01 uses an advanced 850-volt electrical architecture and supports rapid DC charging at up to 350 kW.

Under ideal conditions, Jaguar estimates Type 01 can:

Add up to 200 miles of range in approximately 13 minutes
Charge from 10% to 80% in as little as 22 minutes
Type 01 also places charging ports on both sides of the vehicle for easier access to chargers.

Connected route planning can automatically incorporate charging stops into a trip when necessary, helping take some of the planning out of long-distance EV travel.

Type 01’s dramatic shape wasn’t created at the expense of efficiency.

Jaguar says Type 01 is its most aerodynamic production vehicle ever, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.23.

More than 7,000 wind tunnel tests helped shape its aerodynamic performance.

Active aerodynamic elements work largely out of sight, including Active Vanes and a three-stage deployable rear spoiler. Door handles and other components also remain concealed until needed, helping preserve the clean exterior surfaces.

The result is a vehicle designed to move efficiently through the air while maintaining the long hood, low roofline and dramatic stance Jaguar’s designers wanted from the beginning.

Jaguar’s approach to Type 01 was intentionally different.

Instead of beginning with familiar electric-car proportions, designers started with a blank sheet of paper.

The finished Type 01 features a long hood, low roofline, short front overhang, extended rear proportions and available 23-inch wheels.

At the front, Jaguar’s new Strikethrough graphic creates an instantly recognizable face alongside exceptionally slim LED headlights.

The rear may be even more unexpected.

Type 01 uses a glassless tailgate, giving the back of the vehicle a solid, sculptural appearance. Full-width rear lighting is integrated into the Strikethrough design, while cameras and digital displays provide the rearward visibility traditionally offered by a rear window and mirror.

It is intentionally unconventional—and unmistakably Jaguar.

The same philosophy continues inside.

Rather than designing one large open cabin, Jaguar uses a dramatic central spine running through the length of the interior, visually creating four individual spaces for the four occupants.

Brass-inspired details, artisan textiles and materials influenced by natural travertine stone give the cabin a warm, architectural quality.

Technology is integrated rather than allowed to dominate the design.

Directly ahead of the driver is a 24-inch single-glass OLED display combining instrumentation and infotainment. A secondary 7-inch touchscreen places frequently used controls within easy reach.

The goal is sophisticated technology that is available when you need it without taking over the entire interior.

Jaguar has also taken an unusual approach to the sensory experience inside Type 01.

A full-width Panoramic Soundbar powered by Meridian runs across the base of the windshield. Combined with additional speakers throughout the cabin, it is designed to create an immersive listening environment.

Available Sensory Audio technology goes a step further by allowing occupants to physically feel elements of the music through the seats.

Type 01 also incorporates Active Road Noise Cancellation and isolated electric drive units to create a quieter cabin.

Front occupants can even experience hot-stone-style seat massage, while customizable Cabin Moods coordinate lighting, fragrance and the panoramic roof’s virtual blinds to change the atmosphere inside the vehicle.

It’s a different interpretation of luxury—one focused not only on what you see, but also on what you hear and feel.

Type 01 isn’t simply Jaguar’s next electric vehicle.

It is the foundation for what comes next.

The vehicle is the first production Jaguar developed under the brand’s new creative philosophy and the first to use Jaguar Electric Architecture. Jaguar says more than 360 patent applications are associated with its development.

It also marks Jaguar’s transition toward a new generation of all-electric vehicles.

There are still familiar pieces of Jaguar DNA here: dramatic proportions, effortless power, a driver-focused experience and the idea that a Jaguar should feel special before you even start driving.

The way Jaguar is delivering those qualities, however, is completely new.

Jaguar says Type 01 orders are expected to open in early 2027, with the first customer deliveries anticipated during the second half of 2027.

Because Type 01 is still approaching production, final specifications, equipment, features and availability may change before launch.
